Vitality Octa-Strong 5K
Join us for our first Octa-Strong 5K at beautiful Clement Park in Littleton, Colorado. This Octa-Strong 5K is a family friendly 5K. We are celebrating Vitality Training Studio turning 5 and want to get the community outside and moving. Perhaps this is your first 5K ever and you've always wanted to do one but have been hesitant to do so. Or maybe you've never done an event where there are strength exercises included. We know either reason can be daunting, but we want to encourage you to try. If running isn't your thing, feel free to walk! Please don't be intimidated with the exercise stations - everything is scaled to meet you where you are at. That's our job as personal trainers!
What is an Octa-Strong 5K? It's a 5K (3.1 miles) race course that has 8 strength stations along the path. You will start the race outside of Vitality Training Studio, where you will perform an exercise to kick off the race. There will be 3 stations, manned by our certified personal trainers, located along the path. Since you will be running around Clement Park lake twice, each station will have a different exercise you perform each time you get to it. And finally you'll finish back at Vitality Training Studio doing one last exercise.
Who can participate? All runners and walkers welcome! All fitness levels welcome - exercises will be scaled to whatever you feel comfortable doing.
What if I am not able to run? Feel free to walk.
What exercises are you talking about? Sled Pushes, Ball Slams, Farmers Carry, Walking Lunges, Box Jumps, Jump Rope, Burpees, and Bear Crawl
I have bad knees and can't do those exercises. Can I still participate? Of course! Our trainers will provide low impact modifications and other modifications for you. Just make sure you ask them for a modification if you don't see anyone else doing one- please don't be embarrassed either! We would rather you not be hurting from this!
What time does the race start? We will have a rolling start, so the race start will be between 7:30 and 8am November 4, 2023.
